I already showed you some impressions of SoHo and a more classic look last week. Today I’d like to show you another one – more casual though – and want to share with you five lessons I’ve learned and I was thinking about during my time in NYC a lot. I really wasn’t that active on Instagram (and even less on here), because I was just overwhelmed by so much in the blogger business. The pressure, the rumors and envy. I even thought about quitting blogging as a job. But I really took my time an I want to share with you five lessons that changed a lot for me. And it’s universal – I bet you can find yourself in them as well, even if you’re not blogging. 🙂

Letzte Woche habe ich euch bereits ein paar Impressionen bzw. einen Look, den wir in SoHo geshootet haben, gezeigt. Heute gibt’s einen anderen Look aus SoHo. Zudem möchte ich mit euch fünf Dinge teilen, über die ich mir während meiner Zeit in New York Gedanken gemacht habe und die mich auch sehr beschäftigt haben. Ich war ja ziemlich inaktiv – sowohl auf Instagram als auch hier – und das lag daran, dass mir das ganze Instagram- und Blogger-Business zu viel wurde. Die Gerüchte, der Neid, der Druck. Ich habe sogar darüber nachgedacht, das Bloggen im Sinne eines Jobs aufzugeben. Daher habe ich mir bewusst die Zeit genommen und nachgedacht – hier also meine fünf Lektionen, die ich gelernt habe. Sie sind übrigens universell übertragbar und nicht nur für Blogger. 🙂

Open Eyes x KENZO

We all know it: we run from one place to the next, after getting up straight to the gym, then speeding home to get ready and then: appointments, university, work. We forget the things around us and act like robots. Automatically. Programmed. Day for day. Week for week. Year for year. I admit: I am such a person – and: the automatism is not even that bad. Sometimes at least. If I do not even think in the morning whether I should go to the gym or not, then I go easily. Bye bye, inner pig dog. On the other hand – and this is now the highlight of the post – lets this automatism somehow blind us. Blind to what is happening around us. We do not notice how beautiful the park is we go through every morning, or how good the food is, because we quickly eat it, since food must be taken as fast as we answer one of our many mails.
When I was forced to have a time-out three weeks ago and I had to come down from the “Blogger-Life”, I became more and morle things around me. And: it was damn good! It was damn good to have no iPhone glued to my hand, not spending the whole day on Instagram and to have eyes widely open. Open to the people and happenings around me. I can recommend it! Just put the phone away, pull the ear buds out of your ears and pay attention. It’s fabulous.

Wir alle kennen es: wir rennen von einem Ort zum nächsten, nach dem Aufstehen direkt in’s Gym, danach schnell nach Hause um sich fertig zu machen und dann: Termine, Uni, Arbeit. Wir vergessen die Sachen um uns herum und handeln wie Roboter. Automatisch. Programmiert. Tag für Tag. Woche für Woche. Jahr für Jahr. Auch ich bin so ein Mensch – und: der Automatismus ist gar nicht mal so schlecht. Manchmal zumindest. Wenn ich gar nicht nachdenke morgens, ob ich in’s Fitnessstudio gehen soll, dann gehe ich einfach. Bye bye, innerer Schweinehund. Auf der anderen Seite – und das ist jetzt der Clou des Posts – lässt uns dieser Automatismus irgendwie blind werden. Blind werden für das, was um uns herum passiert. Uns fällt nicht auf, wie schön der Park ist, durch den wir jeden Morgen gehen oder wie gut das Essen wirklich ist, weil wir es schnell hinunterschlingen, da Essen ja genauso schnell passieren muss, wie die Beantwortung einer unserer vielen Mails.
Als ich vor drei Wochen gezwungen war, eine Auszeit zunehmen, bzw. mal etwas runterzukommen von dem „Blogger-Life“, sind mir die kleinen Dinge erst bewusst bzw. bewusster geworden. Und: es war verdammt gut! Es war verdammt gut, mal kein iPhone in der Hand kleben zu haben, nicht den ganzen Tag auf Instagram zu verbringen und die Augen offen zu haben. Offen für die Menschen und Geschehnisse um mich herum. Also: einfach mal das Handy weglegen, die Kopfhörer aus dem Ohr ziehen und aufmerksam sein. Es ist fabelhaft.CONTINUE READING

When you decide to stake everything on one card, everybody seems to have an opinion about what you do, they either admire you or are startled. Admiration for your braveness to believe in yourself and your vision or astonishment for your naivité.

Wenn man sich entscheidet, alles auf eine Karte zu setzen, haben plötzlich alle eine Meinung dazu, es gibt Bewunderung oder Verwunderung. Bewunderung für den Mut, an sich selbst und seine Vision zu glauben, oder Verwunderung für die vermeintliche Naivität.

From Paris with love: Outfit #PFW

Better late than never?!
This could be the appropriate saying for this post and here’s a big sorry from me!
The post about this outfit should’ve been online since last Sunday. After I was really having health issues and actually could not really even be active on Instagram, the post for this outfit for the Nobi Talai show of the #PFW will be up here today. I hope you like the pictures and the outfit anyway.

Der Post zu diesem Outfit sollte bereits letzten Sonntag online kommen. Nachdem ich aber gesundheitlich ausgeknockt war und tatsächlich nicht mal auf Instagram richtig aktiv sein konnte, kommt der Post zum Outfit für die Nobi Talai Show der #PFW nun eben heute. Parisian Black x KENZO

Café au Lait, Baguette and the Eiffel Tower – three words, one city: Bienvenue à Paris!
The style of the Parisians is very special – casual, minimalistic, chic but somehow cool.
Dark blue, White, more muted colors can be found on these streets. And yes – the big big labels are from there! Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Kenzo were founded here. But big labels are not the only important things, because the fashion-addict from the French metropolis mixes high end labels with low budget garment und creates this way the typical Parisian look.

Cafe au Lait, Baguette und der Eiffelturm – drei Stichworte und wir wissen, um welche Stadt es sich handelt: Bienvenue à Paris!
Der Style der Pariser ist ganz besonders – lässig, minimalistisch, elegant und irgendwie speziell. Dunkelblau, weiß, eher gedecktere Farben dominieren das Straßenbild. Und ja – die ganz großen Marken kommen von dort. Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton und auch Kenzo wurden hier gegründet und sind wohl jedem ein Begriff. Aber nicht nur große Labels sind wichtig, denn der Fashion-Addict aus der französischen Modemetropole mixt High-End-Labels mit Low-Budget-Teilen und kreiert so den typischen Pariser Look.
