My Daily Routine & Why Coffee Is Life

For more than 6 months I’ve been self-employed now and it feels great! For some it might sound like heaven on earth — you can work whenever and wherever you want, but in the beginning this flexibility was very tough for me. I had to find my own routine, I had to plan my day. Since I’m studying next to my blogging job, it’s very crucial to have a routine and a plan. If you think you can live in the day, you’re completely wrong. From nothing nothing comes. In this blogpost I’d like to show you a typical day of my life and let you know why coffee plays such an important role and is LIFE.

Seit mehr als einem halben Jahr bin ich nun selbstständig – und während es für viele wie der Himmel auf Erden bezüglich der Flexibilität klingt, war es für mich gerade am Anfang äußerst tough. Ich musste mir erst eine Routine angewöhnen, meinen Tagesablauf planen. Erst um 10 Uhr aufstehen ist nicht! Da ich neben des Bloggens noch studiere, ist eine Routine bzw. ein Plan unbedingt notwendig. Wer also denkt, als Selbstständiger lebt man in den Tag hinein…. definitiv nicht. Von nichts kommt auch nichts. Ich nehme euch in dem Blogpost mit durch einen typischen Tag von mir und zeige euch, warum Kaffee bei mir eine ganz große Rolle spielt und einfach “life” ist. Mobile Working & The Perks Of Being A Blogger

For more than six months I’ve been working on my own now. No boss, no place I have to go to. Even though this is pretty cool, you have to be very motivated and have a lot of discipline to let your business run. There are still those things called deadlines that need to be met. But you don’t have a fixed schedule were you have to work. You can work anytime you want – an experience of freedom, but for people like me – last minute is my time to shine – it isn’t always that easy. But I have to commit: when it comes to blogging and my business, I really have lots of discipline and always meet the deadlines and never miss appointments. If you ask my lecturers at university… well don’t. 😉 Since I can work whenever and wherever I want, I’m very flexibel and mobile and I can use my time more effectively. My notebook is always with me and my iPhone is almost glued to my hands.

 

Seit gut einem halben Jahr bin ich nun selbstständig. Und während es einerseits eine große Erleichterung ist und Flexibilität mit sich bringt, muss die Eigenmotivation und Disziplin nun bei weitem größer sein. Dadurch dass es natürlich trotzdem Deadlines einzuhalten gilt, aber eben keine geregelten Arbeitszeiten hat, ist es für Last Minute Typen wie mich oftmals nicht ganz so einfach. Gerade in der Vorweihnachtszeit reihte sich nun Deadline an Deadline und Stress war vorprogrammiert. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass ich gerade beim Bloggen disziplinierter bin als ich je zu vor war. Deadlines sind hier für mich kein Problem, aber fragt mal meine Dozenten an der Uni…. 😉 Dadurch, dass ich arbeiten kann, wie und wo ich möchte, bin ich äußerst flexibel und mobil und somit auch viel effektiver. Mein Laptop ist mein ständiger Begleiter und mein iPhone ist praktisch mit meiner Hand verwachsen.

SoHo (ll) or 5 lessons learned #ANDYxNYC

I already showed you some impressions of SoHo and a more classic look last week. Today I’d like to show you another one – more casual though – and want to share with you five lessons I’ve learned and I was thinking about during my time in NYC a lot. I really wasn’t that active on Instagram (and even less on here), because I was just overwhelmed by so much  in the blogger business. The pressure, the rumors and envy. I even thought about quitting blogging as a job. But I really took my time an I want to share with you five lessons that changed a lot for me. And it’s universal – I bet you can find yourself in them as well, even if you’re not blogging. 🙂

Letzte Woche habe ich euch bereits ein paar Impressionen bzw. einen Look, den wir in SoHo geshootet haben, gezeigt. Heute gibt’s einen anderen Look aus SoHo. Zudem möchte ich mit euch fünf Dinge teilen, über die ich mir während meiner Zeit in New York Gedanken gemacht habe und die mich auch sehr beschäftigt haben. Ich war ja ziemlich inaktiv – sowohl auf Instagram als auch hier – und das lag daran, dass mir das ganze Instagram- und Blogger-Business zu viel wurde. Die Gerüchte, der Neid, der Druck. Ich habe sogar darüber nachgedacht, das Bloggen im Sinne eines Jobs aufzugeben. Daher habe ich mir bewusst die Zeit genommen und nachgedacht – hier also meine fünf Lektionen, die ich gelernt habe. Sie sind übrigens universell übertragbar und nicht nur für Blogger. 🙂

All I Want For Xmas Is ANNA I.J.

‘Tis the season! Only 10 days left till Christmas Eve and I don’t have any gifts yet. I’m always late when it comes to almost everything – I’m one of those “last minute” guys. But most of the time I’m late, because I already know what I want and what to do! So I already know what I’ll get for my family and friends and what I buy for myself – of course! 😉 For a few years now there’s always something from one certain company on my Christmas wishlist: bracelets from ANNA Inspiring Jewellery.

Es weihnachtet sehr – auch bei mir! Es sind nur noch 10 Tage bis Heiligabend und ich hab wie immer noch keine Geschenke. Generell bin ich mit meinen Weihnachtsgeschenken immer relativ spät dran. Ich bin Typ „Last Minute“. Das liegt wahrscheinlich aber auch daran, dass ich mittlerweile weiß, was ich wem zu Weihnachten schenken kann und was eigentlich immer gut ankommt. Und was auch ich mir selbst zu Weihnachten schenken kann. 😉 Bei mir sind seit mehreren Jahren immer Dinge von ein und derselben Firma auf meiner Wishlist: Schmuckstücke von ANNA Inspiring Jewellery.
