African inspirations x Scotch & Soda

“All I wanna do is get high by the beach, get high by the beach, get high…“

This would be the best lyric to describe the pictures I took on one crazy cold summer morning at the beaches of Fuerteventura. The water temperature – NO JOKE! Brrr… but the light situation was perfect! 6:30am, the sun was rising and I was almost the only person at the beach (with my cousin, who took these photos) – dope!

African inspired bomberjacket by Scotch & Soda

We all know the feeling, when we just go through our favorite online-shops, although we don’t need anything… actually 😉 That’s how I felt and all of a sudden I found my newest baby – this beautiful bomberjacket by Scotch & Soda. And nothing was more trendy and more seen on the streets than bomberjackets – but the basic ones can be worn by anyone, right?

The Dutch brand Scotch & Soda dedicated a whole collection to typical African Prints and turned them into something very European looking. Let’s be honest: we all look like in disguise, when we wear typical local clothes from China, Africa, India or wherever else. Scotch & Soda is very special, because they always get inspired by foreign cultures, but bring them on our streets with a mixture of European classics and exotic prints.

Anthracite, black and beige – definitely not boring

Usually those colours are not the ones, that get all of the attention, when you enter the room, since they’re called non-colors. In combination with the african pattern and the special jacquard-technique, Scotch & Soda created a fashion item, which is definitely a statement and differs significantly from the ones you usually see on the streets.

The important thing is, that you have to combine it with basic pants and shirts.

Das wäre wohl die passendste Songzeile, um die Bilder zu untermalen, die ich an einem richtig kalten Sommer Morgen an den Stränden von Fuerteventura aufnahm. Die Wasser-Temperatur…. absolut kein Spaß! Aber das Licht war perfekt! Halb 7 am morgen, die Sonne ging gerade auf und ich (und mein Cousin, der die Bilder geschossen hat) sind fast die einzigen am Strand – unbeschreiblich!

Afrikanisch inspirierte Bomberjacke von Scotch & Soda

Wir alle kennen das Gefühl, wenn wir durch die Online-Shops streifen, obwohl wir gar nichts brauchen… eigentlich 😉 So ging es mir und plötzlich hab ich dieses Schätzchen entdeckt – diese wunderschöne Bomberjacke von Scotch & Soda. Und nichts war 2016 wohl so im Trend wie Bomberjacken – aber Basics kann ja jeder!

Das Amsterdamer Label Scotch & Soda hat den typisch afrikanischen Prints eine ganze Kollektion gewidmet und sie auf europäische Weise interpretiert. Denn sind wir doch mal ehrlich, meistens sieht man doch ganz schön verkleidet aus, wenn man im Urlaub sich landestypisch anzieht. Scotch & Soda schafft es aber in jeder Kollektion, sich von fremden Kulturen inspirieren zu lassen und für uns strassentauglich zu machen.

Anthrazit, schwarz und beige – gar nicht langweilig

Normalerweise zieht man mit den Farben anthrazit, schwarz oder beige nicht die Blicke auf sich, gelten sie doch vielmehr als Nicht-Farben. Doch in Kombination mit dem afrikanischen Muster und der speziellen Jacquard-Webtechnik hat Scotch & Soda hier eine Bomberjacke geschaffen, die besonders ist und definitiv nicht dem Einheitslook der Bomberjacken entspricht.
